Puppet Workshop with Smoking Apples Theatre

Tabletop puppets with Smoking Apples Theatre

Join multi award winning Smoking Apples Theatre for a puppetry and theatre making workshop this February half-term. This is a jam packed 90 minute workshop where you will have the chance to try your hand at puppetry and storytelling, as well as creating the perfect soundscape to accompany your performance.

The Smoking Apples team will show you how to bring puppets and objects to life, and you will discover how you can use them to tell stories in fun new ways. In groups, you will work together to create short scenes inspired by the surrounding environment at COAM, and you will spend some time collecting sounds you could use to add atmosphere to your scenes.

Smoking Apples are the theatre team behind the Arbor the Tree and Buzz puppet theatre shows previously performed at COAM.

This workshop is open to all ages, but children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. All abilities welcome.

Please note tickets are for the workshop only. The main museum site is closed for the winter and you will not be able access any of the exhibits and buildings. Toilets on-site will be open but there will be no café or shop. The workshop will take place in our Northolt Barn and in various open spaces around the site. Our barn is not heated so please dress warmly.
